The woman used a very small bit of leaven to make over 50 pounds of flour rise for bread. She took what little she had and worked it until it
was able to affect much more than it should have been capable of doing.

 

The Pharisees were a type of leaven. Although they had lots of
“leaven”, it did not “affect” (grow) the kingdom of God. They used their position and power for their own selfish purposes.
